TCM Liquid Extracts – raw materials

The products unite a 4000 year old tradition with modern development of western science and technique. All raw materials are purchased and selected from traditional sources according to European norms and standards. The manufacturer is located in Belgium. The basic idea and the principles of Chinese medicine impact the decisions of the manufacturer to a great extend. The TCM philosophy is adhered to at all times.

TCM Liquid Extracts – manufacturing

It's a particular type of preparation. The manufacturing process was introduced and developed over the past 20 years and involves three steps.  The result is a choice of 325 single substances in liquid form that can be combined to any formula or prescription.

TCM liquid extracts can also be combined with varying base creams (excipiens) for external application. Therefore different dermatological conditions can be treated accordingly.

3-step-manufacturing process

1. Cold maceration in ethanol/water solution

Duration, ratio and degree of the maceration-solution is calculated individually for each substance. Traditional dosages are used as a base. Dissolubility of active ingredients in each substance is taken into consideration.

2. Concentration by evaporation (distillation)

This process secures the optimal concentration of active ingredients. Alcohol-content is reduced to less than 5%.

3. Filtration and addition of glycerine

The extract will be stabilised with glycerine and sedimentation is prevented. In order to make the product durable, Nipagin/Nipasol is added. The product now becomes stable for at least 3 years. The concentration factor of the liquid extracts is 1:10, this remains the same for each new batch.
